Elliott Gould, Mitzi Gaynor, George Chakiris, Joan Van Ark, Kate Linder and Others Gathered at Bloomingdale?s for a Cocktail Kick Off to the Upcoming Tony Awards Viewing Party in L.A.

If faces looked familiar at Bloomingdale?s Century City last week, that?s because The Actors Fund held a cocktail reception to kick off its annual fundraiser: the June 10 Tony Awards Viewing Party in Los Angeles, which will honor Jason Alexander with the Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Taking place at the Skirball Center in L.A., the event will offer a big-screen live feed from New York of the Tony Awards telecast, along with an auction, awards presentation and entertainment during the TV broadcast?s commercial breaks.

Scott Bakula of ?Star Trek: Enterprise? and ?Men of a Certain? will host the evening, written and produced by writer/producer David Rambo, of ?V? and ?CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.? Luke Yankee is the night?s director

Among those enjoying champagne and hors d?oeuvres May 23, amid the clothes racks and sales counters on Bloomie?s second floor, were Elliott Gould, George Chakiris of ?West Side Story,? Kate Linder of ?The Young and the Restless,? Joan Van Ark of ?Knots Landing,? Erin Murphy, Ilene Graff, Carole Cook, Tom Troupe, Warren Berlinger, Brenda Dickson, Donna Mills, James Karen, Channing Chase, Judy Norton, Nancy Dussault, Erin Murphy, Rip Taylor, Stan Livingston, Alison Arngrim, Donna Mills, Barbara Van Orden and others.

Taking the microphone, James Karen spoke of the need for The Actors Fund and the time before actors were afforded the superstar status they enjoy today. He reminded that in decades past, apartment buildings posted signs that declared, ?no children, pets or actors.?

Mitzi Gaynor next gave details of the upcoming live Tony Awards telecast and party, also inviting the group to shop at Bloomingdale?s, where 10% of their purchases that day would go to the Fund.

The Tony Awards Viewing Party?s celebrity committee includes Gould, Dussault, Julie Bowen, Dann Florek, Zachary Quinto, Garry Marshall, Susan Sarandon, Holland Taylor and Steve Guttenberg.

The Actors Fund acts as a safety net to all those in the performing arts and entertainment industry in need of social services, emergency assistance, health care, housing and employment services.
