Communications Co-ordinator, IST ? All jobs (page 1)

The IST Communications team provides professional communications advice and execution for IST-wide priorities.

The Communications Co-ordinator will work as part of the IST Communications team providing professional design and artwork services to support of a range of IST wide activities and projects and provide administrative support to the Communications team. The role will also work closely with the Facilities team to co-ordinate communications to staff based in 20 Canada Square.

The role would suit someone with both design and technical abilities, with the ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.?

The successful candidate will have excellent organisation skills and attention to detail. He/she will be a creative thinker with a practical approach and sound commercial understanding. The role requires a positive, self-motivated, efficient and totally reliable individual, with a friendly, flexible, solution-focused, personal approach.

Design & Artwork
? Poster and plasma design (including photo editing, design work, liaising with Reprographics, uploading and scheduling plasmas).
? Creating and editing in-house adverts, online brochures, e-invites, etc using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign software.
? Liaising with design agencies to produce literature/brochures/websites for more high-profile applications.
? Designing and formatting bi-weekly 20CS newsletter from content provided by Community Affairs & Comms Advisor, using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
? Setting up and maintaining user-friendly templates for IST communications and notes using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
? Working with Community Affairs & Comms Advisor to ensure materials meet brand guidelines.
? Ensuring all communications are approved by Legal & Compliance if relevant.

Logistics & Admin
? Updating IST intranet and 20CS intranet sites as needed using SharePoint.
? Admin and logistical support for events such as Town halls, ELT calls, internal/external employee events, international gas conferences, etc.
? Arranging 20CS photo shoots and videos.
? Preparing slide packs and presentations as required to support communications using Microsoft PowerPoint.
? Survey management: creating online surveys, compiling results and generating reports for the executive team when needed.
? Invoice and budget tracking using Microsoft Excel.
? Admin support for team including posting items to Sunbury/SJS, booking couriers, booking meeting rooms, etc.
? Updating 20CS distribution list monthly.
? Creating, updating and maintaining other distribution lists.

Educated to degree level or equivalent.
The candidate should be confident working across a range of disciplines. Software skills required:
- Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint skills
- Advanced level ability in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat
- WebEx for video conferencing
- SharePoint for web design and editing would be useful but can be taught on the job.

A working knowledge of print production & preparing creative for print is critical for this role, as well as knowledge of web technologies and preparing creative for digital use. An understanding of the principles and application of web usability, intuitive design, information architecture and accessibility is essential.?

Understanding of, or ability to get to grips with basic technical logistics for setting up events, working with onsite technical staff and event management teams.

Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.?

The successful candidate will present a portfolio that reflects their design experience which could include website/intranet examples, newsletters, brochures, posters, adverts, etc.
