This week has been a rather busy one but I had some time to sit down and do an interview with Mr. Mike Chaos, the founder of Chaos gaming. ?In case you have not yet heard of Chaos Gaming, it is a gaming community for Xbox 360 players. ?Chaos Gaming is one of the largest and most organized communities on Xbox 360, including branches in multiple games such as MW3 and Halo Reach. ?Mr. Mike Chaos has been gracious enough to give us here at HQ4Games a little time to explain more about Chaos Gaming. ?Lets get this interview on the road!
What are your current favorite video games?
My current favorite video games would have to be MW3 and Reach.
What are the video games which made you the gamer you are today?
My mom owned a nes with Super Mario Bros 3 and Zelda, that leaded me to buying a n64 one year with Zelda OoT, met a friend who got me hooked on Goldeneye , we both got xbox?s and that led to the most powerful gateway drug of them all, Halo 2.
What other activities and interests do you have besides gaming?
I enjoy?Geocaching, building legos [Never to old], watching movies, and spending time with the lady [Pink Lady Chaos].
Could you describe what Chaos is to you, and how you started it?
Chaos Gaming is a group of gamers that have come together to avoid the dumb asses on xbox live, ?WITHOUT? too many rules. ?We can all be mature enough to not talk about how we have slept with each others moms but immature enough to make fart jokes.
Why do you believe Chaos Gaming has been so successful, and what do you do to assure its continuing success?
What I said about Chaos in the last question also applies here?
. ??The fact that we have awesome members also plays a large role is why Chaos Gaming has been so successful. ?Awesomeness attracts more awesome!
When you first started Chaos Gaming did you ever think it would progress into something large as it is today?
I braced myself for failure but expected the best, so a little bit of both.
I understand that Chaos is very well organized and has a ranking system which helps keep it in such a manner, do you mind describing how you stay so organized and mention how the ranking system plays into that?
We pretty much use what we learned from the community we left a couple of years ago [Disciples of Gaming]. ?We changed the code of conduct a bit to make it less strict and more fun for members. ?It has worked very well for us. [They stole it from the community they were in before XGC, and some with the community before KSI]
Finally, I would just like to open the floor to you. Is there any final thoughts or comments you would like to add?
Chaos would be nothing without our members, I?ve tried my damnedest to keep everyone happy, [No that's not possible by the way] I always welcome Questions. ?I love to inform our members on how things work.
