Never Struggle with Meditation Again | Miracle-Readiness

Never Struggle with Meditation Again

I?ve talked a lot about meditation with women over the years + the feedback I get most of the time is that it?s a struggle for a lot of us.

We want to meditate because we know it will make a difference in our lives, but 1) we try to do it + can?t get our minds to quiet down 2) we feel like we?re doing it wrong or 3) we get frustrated + give up.

Let me let you in on a little secret?.

There is no one ?right? way to meditate.

In the same way that I believe we all connect to our God/The Universe in our own unique way, I too believe that we each experience meditation on an individual level.

Here are some tips to help you break the vicious cycle of meditation-struggle + break free to the other side.

Get a timer

Meditation doesn?t have to be something that takes up your whole day or even 15 minutes of it. I recommend getting a kitchen timer that buzzes or beeps, setting it for 1-3 minutes + dedicating that duration of time to your meditation.

If you want to go longer, go longer. But if you?re just starting to create your habit, try starting with 1 minute. If you want to do several 1 minute intervals throughout the day, that?s great too!

Choose an intention

If you?re sitting in a quiet room trying to clear your mind to nothingness, it can be an incredibly difficult task, especially in the beginning of our practice. I recommend choosing an intention for your meditation.

Ask yourself what you need more of in that day. Your answer might be joy, romance, love, creative expression, movement ? whatever the answer, set that as the intention of your meditation.

Close your eyes, take a deep breath and think of things that bring you into alignment with that intention.

For example, if you need more romance in your life, imagine yourself taking a steamy bubble bath with candles lit all around you. Allow yourself to feel how relaxed you are soaking in the tub. Are there rose petals all around you? Is there music playing in the background? What does the air smell like?

Allowing yourself to experience your intention through focus + sensation is an excellent form of meditation. Not to mention how much fun it is taking the time to go on all of these mental adventures!

Which brings me to my next point?

Have fun with it

All of life is about experiencing joy + happiness, why should your meditation practice be any different?

Have fun with your meditation! I believe one of the most important things we can do for our practice is to answer what our spirits are calling us to do. Some days that might be to set our timer for a minute + daydream about us frolicking in fields of fairies. Other days, it might be to literally surround ourselves with water + absorb its healing powers. And somedays, it just might be to have a dance party in the middle of our living room.

Release the rules you?ve put on what it means to meditate + instead, operate from the space of bringing yourself joy, peace or whatever other intention you set out to create that day.

Best of luck! And if you have any questions, I?d be happy to answer to the best of my abilities. Just leave a comment for me below.
