Calm.com Trains You to Meditate in Two to Twenty Minute Sessions

Calm.com Trains You to Meditate in Two to Twenty Minute SessionsWeb/iOS: Meditation offers a host of benefits, from improved memory and productivity to stress and pain relief. If you need a little help getting started, Calm.com's webapp and iOS app can guide you in as little as two minutes (two minutes a day can go a long way towards building a meditation habit).

In the site and mobile app, you choose from several relaxing nature scenes, then select between a 2, 10, or 20 minute session. A narrator then walks you through getting relaxed, telling you to close your eyes, relax your shoulders, focus on your chest, notice sensations, and so on. Birds, ocean waves, and other natural sounds add to the peacefulness.

If you prefer no voiceover or want a more rigid meditation tool, Calm also is behind the Do Nothing for 2 Minutes website: a seaside scene with crashing waves that counts down from two minutes but doesn't let you move your mouse or keyboard (or else the timer starts over).

Go train your brain for calm and focus at the link below. Also, for more information on getting started with meditation, see our primer on meditation for everyone.
